Let’s Know All About Different Types of Valves

  1. Ball Valve: Ball valves are mainly used for controlling the flow of fluids in industrial and commercial piping systems. The tight shut-off feature of these valves makes them particularly suited for flow control applications in high pressure and high-temperature conditions.

They are commonly used in catalytic reforming, refining, power, marine, petrochemical, and process industries. Design engineers developing valves for demanding applications should match the performance of the valve’s component elements with the required flow, temperature, and pressure conditions. A ball valve, one type of quarter turn valve, is quite literally a ball placed in a passageway through which fluid flows. The ball is controlled from outside of the valve, often with a handle that can be turned 90 degrees, or a quarter turn, back and forth for opening and closing the valve. Therefore, the ball valve is an excellent choice for shutoff applications.

  1. Butterfly Valve: This valve is particularly used with large pipes, and is described as a disk rotating on a diametrical axis inside a pipe, also used as a throttle valve or a damper. This valve is similar (with regards to operation) to a ball valve. The butterfly valve, having a flat circular plate, is positioned in the center of the pipe, and the plate has a rod through it that is attached to a handle on the outside of the valve. This valve works by rotating the handle and turning the plate over either in a parallel position, or perpendicular to the flow. Know more about Ace Valve via
  1. Check Valve: Check valves are used in pipelines to transport fluids or keep the gases or fluids in the pipelines separate. These valves allow the release of content only in one direction. At times it doesn’t have an external handle to make them work, they work automatically on the basis of internal pressure. Since they are used in different types of industries they are manufactured in carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel. Depend on size it is necessary pieces in the piping.
